Pleasure Wineland: The Site
Let’s talk a little bit about the site itself.
Web design geeks will tell you that this a responsive web site. What does that mean?
It means that the site adapts to your screen/window size.
In a web browser on a computer, it looks like this:
Pull up Pleasure Wineland on your phone or tablet, and you’ll get something like this:
It’s a one-site-fits-all approach that should meet the vast majority of needs. Tap that menu button at the top right, and all the menu options from the sidebar on the desktop are at your fingertips.
“What’s Hot” on the front page isn’t showing any posts yet. That’s by design so that you’re not looking at the same post twice on the home page. It’ll start displaying once the site has several posts under its belt.
Where’s all the other stuff that Beers and Ears has? Over two years ago this is how Beers and Ears was; articles only. We’re looking at doing some similar things here, but for now we’re starting with the articles. Conversely, the page design seen here is going to be adapted for Beers and Ears in the future.
Since this site just opened last week, hopefully most of you who use Google Reader have already moved on to something else. If not, you might be in for a surprise as Google Reader is shutting down today. Our feed for those of you looking to add it is http://pleasurewineland.com/feed/
We also currently have a presence on Facebook and Twitter! New articles will be announced on both, and we’ll also post other random things. Also, talk to us on there and tell us what you’d like to see. You can also get in touch with us at email@example.com.
