Menage Red

The Ménage.

As George said, this is like discovering plutonium on accident.

Ménage à Trois Red from the Folie à Deux winery in California is the top selling red wine since 2010. This blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel grapes has set the world on fire since its debut. Is it the name that sells so well? Maybe a bit, but there has to be something to it to be the best selling red wine. Also, it’s $8 at Sam’s for a bottle.

Ménage Red is a deep reddish-purple and has a tangy grape scent with a bit of alcohol. Lots of fruity flavors, maybe some blackberry and other dark tangy fruit. A bit of spice and a bit of heat from the alcohol. A mostly clean finish, just lingers a bit at the end.

It’s a nice wine to kick back with or to enjoy with a good meal. It won’t break the bank either which is good. Perhaps Ménage hits that price/quality sweet spot. Either way, I recommend it.
